Dr. Cuno Pfister is a founder and managing director of Oberon Microsystems, a company that has built an HomeKit SDK that is proving to be one of the most popular SDKs out there. Oberon is already working with major brands word wide, supporting HomeKit integration. He received his computer science PhD at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zürich), in the research group of Niklaus Wirth. Over the last 20 years, his company has created several IoT platforms. For example, it developed a hard real-time Java VM for microcontrollers with support for Web technologies – in 1997. Today, Oberon fully focuses on OberonHAP, its implementation of Apple’s HomeKit Accessory Protocol (HAP). OberonHAP supports powerful Linux machines, but thanks to its highly optimized cryptographic functions also scales down to resource-constrained microcontrollers.
